Why I'm betting my brand and income on internet radio
|
Whilst many might not always agree, they will respect Gareth for sticking to his guns. In this no-holds-barred Keynote Gareth will be answering questions like:
How did you use technology to get here?
Why is technology relevant for creating an un-radio?
Why are you betting your brand & future income on an un-radio? Aren't you crazy?
Why is internet radio going to beat old school radio? How is the quality of the listener better enough to make it all stack up?
Where is radio going?

Building the BRCK for Africa
|
Most routers and modems are built for New York and London, whereas most of the people connected to the internet today live in places like Nairobi or New Delhi. The BRCK was designed to work in more harsh environments, where the infrastructure isn’t robust. The rugged design of the BRCK allows for drops, dust and weather resistance, and dirty voltage charging.
The BRCK was designed and prototyped in Nairobi, Kenya. We wanted a connectivity device that fit our needs, where electricity and internet connections are problematic.
This is our story. Making hardware for Africa.

How I grew Sleekgeek from 10 to 25,000 members in 24 months with no marketing budget
|
I would like to share the story of how I left my successful corporate career and built Sleekgeek from 10 people to 25,000 with no marketing budget. This will include lessons on community building, social media, personal growth and the pains/pleasures of crossing from corporate to being a social entrepreneur.
