For anyone looking for a glimpse of peak performance
In 2014, the WP "Peninsula" hockey team became the 1st "B" team in South African history to win a National Inter Provincial Tournament.

Gain some insights and be inspired as Steve Evans (player/coach) tells the unlikely story of how 16 committed youngsters (and one old guy) hustled their way to the championship with some clever strategy, all out attitude, belief and maximum disruption!

Interestingly, many of the insights, learnings & techniques have application in the world of entrepreneurship and start-ups… come and listen to a story about “Underdog Mentality, Disruption and the Art of Giant Killing!”

Starting any kind of company is tough.
Building a mobile business and then moving over to making socks is difficult in an entirely different way.

Creating an ecommerce business that sells a product that is manufactured locally and sold across the world has presented me with challenges, complications and learnings that I didn't know I needed or ever wanted to have. NicHarry.com is the best and worst parts of starting a business, all in one place and I'll be telling my story at Tech4Africa 2015.

The SA Florist Dragons Den story
From humble beginnings with a simple website for his mom's florist business, to securing one of the largest investments on the first season of Dragon’s Den South Africa, SA Florist is well on it's way to becoming South Africa’s leading Online gifting destination.

The Deal Behind The Deal: How SA Florist tamed their Dragon
In November 2014, founders Nick Wallander and Fraser Black competed against a number of start-ups to secure a R3.6 million investment on Dragon’s Den South Africa, with Vinny Lingham, a big-name technology investor, now living in Silicon Valley, leading the deal. Since securing the investment, SA Florist has grown from one full-time employee to six, recreated the site from front to back and focused on creating awesome customer experiences for the fast-growing base of regular clients. Local florists have been empowered once again and are creating beautiful, unique floral arrangements at competitive prices for local, national and international customers.

With the new SA Florist marketplace, customers can find unique and thoughtful gifts from real local florists and craft gifters, instead of having to pick from a dull national catalog of products produced on uninspired production lines and distributed meaninglessly from huge centralised warehouses.

Catch the stories behind the story from Nick and Fraser at Tech4Africa.

STARTUP GRIND HOSTS James Fisher (Snakeboard & Nautic Africa)
Our simple goal is that you walk away entertained, inspired and informed.
This is not a lowest common denominator event.
This is an assertive event.
We don't care if the fishbowl doesn't like it.
We do not merely aspire to the heady heights of conformity through neutrality, blandness and crass marketing.
You probably don't even care that this rebellious little event contains no agenda and looks only for the finest content we can find.
Tech4Africa is about breaking rules, upsetting trends and unsettling institutions but first and foremost, great content.
The kind of content people talk about.

Ticket price @ R500.
